At the end of 2008 when I was visiting one of shopping centres in Poznań, I noticed a particular object. It was a life-size polyester figure of a dog, a mass-produced contemporary statue, an item for sale serving the banality of decoration. It was exposed in a very modest way, put directly on the floor of one of popular shops with decorative goods mainly for young people or those with a significant sense of humour. All the time it was competing with other objects for the attention of passers-by and, considering its intended immobility, it was doing quite well. There was a hidden power and potential in this figure. It was much better than its companions. It could play some other role than the one it was originally designed for. I was so charmed by this modern polyester statue that I decided to change its destiny. Like an actor hired to play various roles, it became the hero of my imagination and my own ,,Quotations".
